Animals and NPCs should behave naturally and comprehensibly. For example, they act differently depending on the time of day or the activity assigned to them.

Dwarfs go to bed or to the tavern at night, while nocturnal animals go in search of food.

The Tree takes care of this. Animals look for food when they are hungry and retreat to their dens when they are tired.
